We've heard people say "You're not yourself today, and "act your age." What if you were acting like yourself, or your age, it was just a different self?
What if, like the "Inner Child,' popularized by John Bradshaw, we all had an "Inner Family?" I'm not speaking of Multiple Personality Disorder (or Dissociative Identity Disorder as it's now know), but as Dr. William A. Henkin has called it, multiple personality order.
Consider: we are not the same personalities at work as we are
when
we're with our friends, we're not the same with our parents as we are
with our lovers, we're not the same with our lovers as we are with our
friends.
Perhaps we are like a cut diamond, each facet a part yet all
coming down to the same heart.
